Description Winery History

The Chateau Franc Patarabet, Cuvee Vieille Vigne is the reserve wine of the Chateau under the St Emilion Grand Cru appellation. It is made of the oldest and best vines of the estate. The 2010 vintage, Cuveee Vieille Vignes, at the Chateau Franc Patarabet develops a mix of ripe red fruits and a floral tone on the nose with slightly more mature notes after swirling. On the palate it features a perfect harmony with abundant freshness, mellow character and a promising dense finish.

The vines of the estate are situated right down the hill of St-Emilion, a beautiful medieval village. The soil is mostly sand and clay sand (rich in  iron oxide). The vineyard is cultivated according to tradition, without herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
